Certificate dates and traceability
Calibration tiles used by Rhopoint Instruments Germany or Rhopoint Americas Inc are calibrated in our UKAS‑accredited ISO/IEC 17025 gloss laboratory in the UK – each tile is supplied with its own calibration certificate showing the actual calibration date in that laboratory.
We cannot alter or back‑date these UKAS calibration certificates; the date on each tile certificate always reflects when the tile was calibrated in the UK lab.
During service in Germany or USA, the instrument’s original reference tile is replaced by a new tile calibrated in the UK laboratory, and the device is adjusted and verified against this tile using ISO/IEC 17025‑traceable service equipment.
This process provides a documented traceability chain from the instrument readings to standards calibrated in the accredited laboratory.
Because the tile calibration date and the device service date are different, customers typically use the issue date of the device calibration report from Germany or the USA as the start of their chosen validity period or maintenance interval.
