The PAINTLAB+ Cone and Plate Viscometer provides high accuracy viscosity measurement of non-newtonian paints and coatings. This Viscometer is specifically designed to provide stringent testing conditions to allow the measurement of these materials as the viscosity changes according to the shear stress that is applied. A precision wear resistant cone rotating at high speed on a temperature controlled plate produces standardised shear rates during measurement. Fully automated operation ensures rapid and accurate positioning of the cone onto the plate each time after the plate temperature has reached its preset value. Results are displayed instantly on screen after test.. Real-time high resolution graphing provides monitoring of changes in viscosity during measurement allowing the identification of changes in flow behaviour.

Advanced Temperature Monitoring
The viscometer utilises an integrated high stability temperature controlled plate onto which the samples are applied to test.
A preheat function allows rapid stabilisation of sample temperature which is accurately controlled throughout the measurement process.
Dual Speed Operation
The instrument is configured to allow testing using shear rates according to two standardised test methods - BS (750 rpm -10,000 s¯¹) and ASTM (900 rpm - 12,000 s¯¹). Precision speed control ensures that shear rates applied are highly repeatable and test results are reliable. The combination of two test speeds and selection of viscosity ranges allow the testing of products to a wide range of international test methods.
Lab-tough easy clean glass allows easy removal and cleaning of unintentional splashes and smears from the capacitive sense buttons and screen. The solvent resistant anodised aluminium instrument chassis ensures that the instrument can be cleaned and restored to pristine condition even in the toughest working environments.
Measurement data including time, date and test temperature can be printed to a Rhopoint label printer (supplied as an optional accessory).
Printed labels can be attached to each sample for easy identification and recording of results.
