# Powering off the Instrument

Press the power button on the front of the instrument.
The green switch surround will flash, indicating the instrument is shutting down.
The shutdown procedure can take up to one minute. 

> [!warning]
> Do not unplug the instrument from the mains while the power LED is flashing or Illuminated. Push the button to turn off and wait until the power LED surround turns OFF.
